Indigenous Studies
The Indigenous Studies Working Group was established in 2013 with the goal of opening up dialogues regarding Indigenous issues from Indigenous perspectives and approaches.
We have been active in organizing panels, workshops and meetings at Congress as well as hosting virtual forums for scholarly exchange. We have obtained project funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and are working on a special issue for the Canadian Journal of Latin American and Caribbean Studies as well as an edited collection for the Global Indigenous Issues series at the University of Calgary Press. We invite interested CALACS members to join.
